Aaron Hackett Required Text: 3 Lane Christian spirituality
Lane states that the goal of Christian spirituality is to make the transition from knowing to loving and from conceptualizing to engagement. This is a very interesting statement to me and I think that it holds a lot of bearing. It seems, though, that this might not be the first step. Before you can know anything you must learn it first. If that is the case, then what must we learn? As far as a few things I have read, the answer is nothing. The assumption is that we already contain within us the knowledge of everything we need. Our instinct guides us better than anything we can be taught. Therefore, ultimately, we should attempt to analyze what we have, but to embrace it for what we know as well as don’t know what it is.
