Aaron Hackett Required Text: 5 Turner communitas

Communitas seems to me an important aspect of a person’s life. However, it also appears challenging. The challenge presents itself, as the individual must be able to let go of all biases and stereotypes they have of the people they are communicating with. Our entire lives we have been brought up to assign things a name, characteristic, or positive or negative connotation. Denying that which we have known for so long is difficult, but I believe that it is a great exercise in order to analyze the importance of structure. If communitas could be summoned at any time, I believe it would be used all of the time. If only everyone could be able to let go of what they think they know and just embrace what is for what it is, this could be possible.
