I read an article called "Orchestrating Sacred Space: Beyond the 'Social Construction' of Nature" by Ivakhiv. This article argues that the historically used metaphor of 'construction' is not an appropriate lens to study natural landscapes set out as sacred. Instead it argues that we should use words such as ‘orchestration’, or ‘enactment’. It takes a close look at the red rock landscapes in the Southwest of North America such as Sedona, Arizona. The article is written in a journal of religion and philosophy and thus discusses the ways that we should study and view nature through a lens of religion.
