Beyond The Death of God, Outside Reading -Matt Latham-
I read this article first for my Physics 144 class last semester. It is about a proof for gods existence, and it's written by a Physicists! The bulk of the article surrounds an interesting argument over how god can be proven through variables. There are hundreds upon hundreds of variables that support human life. These variable are precise and if they were off by just a hundredth of a degree then life as we know it would not exist. The idea in our post modern society, is that our existence is a curious incident in the backwater, is here quite wrong in Glynn's view. Glynn postulates that the probability of all these variables falling into place is absolutely astronomical. And that is exactly what God is, astronomical. Something must have put these variables in place, because it is a slim (and that really doesn't do it justice) chance that they would fall on their own. This was a very interesting thought, and really the most convincing theory on the validity of a God I've ever heard. I attached the article through a url; what do you think?
