Bret Marfut topic of choice 1

Normally the things that come to mind when I think of the wilderness are huge forests, deserts, and mountains. However, one of the aspects of nature that has had the most profound effect on me is the water. I enjoy waterskiing and wakeboarding, and every summer I go to a lake in western Maryland to do so. To avoid the rush of boat traffic that comes out in the middle of each day, I will often go out on the boat early in the morning, between five and six o’clock am. At this time in the day, I am on the lake to see the sunrise. Watching the sun come up over a completely smooth lake is one of the most awesome experiences that I have had. It is extremely calming, and it makes me feel good for the rest of the day. This is just one example of finding the beauty of nature in a place where it is not necessarily expected.
