Chris Yencha, Lane 2

The phenomenological approach has been a difficult concept during the entire semester for me to grasp completely. As a theory, it has been clear to me since the beginning. According to the approach, to be fully present within sacred space, one must be fully aware of the relationship that they have with the space. There is an apparent reciprocity that exists when one is completely emerged within a place; however, I have never been engaged with a place on the level that this theory suggests that I be. As such, the theory, as simply as it is stated, is much harder to realize and appreciate in real life.
