Christine Nowak Landscapes of the Sacred #3
In the book Landscapes of the Sacred, Lane describes his three approaches, of of which is the phenomenological approach. This approach takes on the perspective that the actual place itself takes on human-like form, and attracts people to it, drawing them in. This approach connects the non-human world with the human world, joining them together, and letting them coexist. The sacred places we experience have their own meaning, and then we interpret our meaning from that. We interpret and change what we find and experience at these places to something that we are more able to understand.
