Douglas Pelenberg: Landscapes of the Sacred

Lane discusses the concept of habitus. Habitus is a “ritualized way of perceiving reality.” In other words, it is the way of dwelling rather than the place of dwelling. One of my favorite forms of media is a good example of Habitus. Film. Watching a movie is a ritual way of perceiving reality. The place of dwelling is the concept of habitat, which Lane also discusses. Although habitat is important, habitus is more often the concept people associate with sacredness.
