Elizabeth Robertson: Free Topic #2: Christmas!

One of my favorite things about the fall/winter time is Christmas. I don't just mean Christmas day, but the weeks before it and the weather. I love going to outdoor malls where they play Christmas music and you wrap your coat around yourself tightly. I guess I would call that feeling nostalgia. It is hard to describe it, but that feeling that you get when you feel like everyone else is experiencing the same thing as you, and that definitely happens at Christmas in my opinion. Everyone is shopping for presents and it is common to see starbucks cups filled with either coffee or apple cider. Another part that I love is the christmas lights. I put icicle lights up in my apartment and when you turn out all the other lights it's like you are sleeping under a sky full of stars. Finally, I don't think you can get better than Christmas with the Rat Pack. It's a Christmas cd I have on my ipod that features Christmas songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr, to name a few. I literally cannot think of a sound that I love more than their songs. Modern Christmas songs just do not do it for me! I feel like Miniver Cheevey sometimes because I think I was "born too late" sometimes. Guess I'll have to make do with the here and now.
