Kyle Shipe: James River

A few weeks ago, I remember waking up on a Sunday and wondering how it could possibly be so warm for so late in November? Instead of pondering the idea for too long I decided I would head down to the Lionsgate bridge and enjoy the James River for a while. I drove down and parked by an entrance to the Noland Trail and walked down to the little "beach" on the James. I ignored the signs warning me I would "disrupt" the wildlife and comfortably sat down on a fallen tree overlooking the river. I sat there listening to the small waves crash up against the rocks and fallen branches. The sound of the water just seemed to calm me and help me forget about all my problems. I then ventured over to a small dock and sat down letting my feet hang over the water. I was able to sit and enjoy God's creation and try to take it all in. Overall it was a great experience.
