Nate Morris - Reading Review Lane 3

Lane discusses Pure Objectivity in his book. This is an instance that allows human beings to explain the world without allowing them to engage or participate in it. In other words, it is a realization that we, as a society, must change the method by which we come to know the world. To put it simply, we cannot come to know the world without first being fully immersed and actively engaged in it. This is a resounding truth that can be seen over and over again, as humans become increasingly less concerned with the world around them, and more concerned with their own personal wellbeing. In changing the perspective in which one views the world, you are able to perhaps catch a glimpse of something you never knew existed, or come to consider an idea you would have otherwise cast aside. My passion is politics, and much of this idea can be replicated in that realm. In a legislative scenario, if something is to get passed and something accomplished, then individuals must work together to find common ground and come to a solution that will mutually benefit both parties involved. The same tactic can and should be applied to he way in which man views nature, as he uses it as an opportunity to learn and grow.
