Nate Morris - Reading Review - Lane 2

A sacred place is radically set apart from anything profane. This notion is a vital part of the study as sacred places as it proves that nothing but holiness and sacredness can come from these areas. Were a sacred place to contain anything that could be deemed as profane, it would completely negate its entire purpose. This can be seen in the majesty of many sacred places, such as the mountains, or the valleys, or the oceans. Though there is often something radically unsightly or unpredictable in many of these places, nothing profane that exists within these realms (such as an avalanche, a fire, or an oil spill) can be considered a part of these sacred places, as it is in contradiction to the original intention and purpose of sacred places.
