Nature as the Image of God, Outside Reading -Matt Latham-
In researching for my research paper (repetitive I know) I cam across an article by Langdon Gilkey titled Nature as the Image of God. In his article Gilkey shows that God presents himself through the power of nature. At first when I read this article I didn't quite understand what Gilkey was getting at. Then once I thought about it, it clicked. Nature is so powerful. Take weather for example. A hurricane or a volcano eruption, before the nuclear age of man, was the most powerful forces to grace the face of the earth. And God would be the most powerful thing in the universe, thus the deduction could be made that God either is, or is represented through nature. Nature is ordered above all things. Take the seasons for example: Every year spring leads to summer, summer to fall, fall to winter, and winter to spring. It is ordered. And how could a Universe, let alone a ecosystem exist without some type of uniform order. Quite simply it couldn't. Evidence of God? I think so.
