Rachel Goodwyn- Myth

In class we talked about myth, something I have never thought about before. Myth is a person’s ultimate perspective, is not tested, and outlines the beginning with the implication of an end. They are narratives, means by which we construct a world that has a beginning and an end. Scientific accounts can never be an ultimate picture, because they communicate specific instances. Myth is the foundation of what is real. It also described as close as we can get to knowing and experiencing a certain experience. Myth is an attempt to recapture that moment again and giving others the same experience as close as possible. Ritual is the reenactment of the myth. For example, when you catch a huge fish for the first time, you go back home and try to tell everyone the feeling you had at that very moment when you caught the fish. You try to get the audience listening to have that same experience as you had when you caught the fish.
