Samson Girma- Cold Fever

The film “Cold Fever” was definitely an interesting movie. It was interesting seeing Hirata’s mindset changing throughout the movie. In the beginning he didn’t even want to go on the trip but when he was putting and the golfball hit the remote, turning on a video of his parents, he didn’t see it as luck, but rather as a sign. This sign was part of a bigger plan so he went with the flow. He ended up going to a remote location in a very cold and snowy part of Iceland that none of the native people of the country saw as significant and therefore none of them wanted to help Hirata get to this place. Once he got to the river and performed his ritual it was no longer an ordinary place, but was instead made extraordinary through ritual. Hirata’s companion saw the ritual and you could tell he was happy for his friend but this place wasn’t sacred to him, only to Hirata.
