3. Four Axioms applied to Jerusalem Lane Daniel Sharp
Why is Jerusalem considered one of the most sacred places in the entire world by three of the largest religions in the world. For the first axiom Jerusalem was not chosen at random all the historical religious events such as the death and resurrection of Jesus made this place Sacred. Man did not merely select Jerusalem at random. In regards to the second axiom Jerusalem is just an ordinary city but through the sacred rituals of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam it had become sacred. For the third axiom Jerusalem can certainly tred upon by people but never really entered when it comes to the scared aspect of it. An incredible amount of people travel to Jerusalem every year but not every single one of those people have a deep spiritual experience. Just because an individual walks through Jerusalem does not mean that the place is going to be sacred for them right there on the spot. For the fourth and final axiom Jerusalem is in fact a local place that you can point to on a map but God is not confined to this one spot. Jerusalem clearly embodies all four of the major axioms of sacred place because of its rich history.
