Christine Nowak Outside Reading #2
When doing my ten page research paper I came across many readings that I found very insightful. One that I found especially interesting was titled "Water symbolism in African culture and Afro-Christian Churches". The main point of this reading was that the natural and sacred worlds have an immensely strong connection. Water is one of the most significant elements, which is present in both of these worlds. The article also stated how water represents life's cycle of life, death, burial, and resurrection. This shows how it represents the continuity of life, and how it ensures a long, healthy existence. Many African myths are based upon this idea of life after death, and how they are resurrected through the form of water.
