Aaron Thompson- Nature

When i arrived at the noland trail and began to walk, something seemed different than normal. It seemed as if this mere topo had been transformed into a chora, an energizing force that was drawing me in. I walked for nearly a mile and as i looked around i noticed much more than ever before. All the colors seemed brighter and it felt like the land was speaking to me. I walked off the trail and toward the lake where i saw a tree hanging over the water. I climbed out on the tree and sat over the water for almost an hour. During this time i sat and watched fish swim around, squirrels run and climb trees, and birds fly over. At this point in time i felt as if i was connected to the land, and there was a time of Kairos, an unrepeatable moment where events of great significance came to be gathered in my life. That is when i realized that place participates in the perception that is made of it.
