Chris Yencha, Free Topic 4

For my final free topic, I wish to comment on the effectiveness of these blog entries as they relate to class. To be quite honest, I do not feel as if I have gained very much from writing and reading in this blog. There has been little communication within the blog between classmates regarding topics and the blog entries were never discussed in class. I think that for a blog to be effective, it must be supported more fully in class and have a blog entry or two required weekly rather than a total fifteen by the conclusion of class. Although not a huge fan of integrating communication on the internet with classroom instruction, I feel that a forum with instructor guided questions would be a more effective medium than a blog. I do like the idea of the blog, but I think that entries must be more structured for it to be effective. Some people, including myself, seldom posted on the blog in the first month or two and crammed all entries in at the end. I hope that the blog is more effective in future terms.
