Douglas Pelenberg: Natural Setting, Nolan trail
The Nolan trail provided me with a different outlook on the outdoors. The first influential thing that happened to me on the trail was that I noticed a sign. It read, “Today I have grown taller from walking with the trees. I believe that it correctly categorizes the experience I underwent as I journeyed through the Nolan Trail. As our class set off down the trail I realized that being in a group atmosphere was overwhelming the experience I was supposed to be having. All I could see was my classmates in front and behind me. All I could hear was lots of sneakers walking on gravel. It was not until the half waypoint that I actually gained anything from my experience. Once we were allowed to break off individually I began to see the beauty of the nature that exists throughout the Nolan Trail.
