The moon - Nina Salzberg

The moon is not something people usually notice everyday. I was walking to class a couple weeks ago and happened to look up and see the moon. It didn't look like a normal moon. It looked like a sun. It was bright, huge, and had an orange tint to it. I was fascinated. I wondered "Why is the moon so big!?" and "Why is it orange?". I called all my friends and told them to come out and see it. They HAD to. I had never seen a harvest moon before, and if I did, I didn't pay attention before. But this night, I couldn't stop staring at it. I was mesmerized. Some of my friends were just as fascinated, and some weren't. I couldn't understand why some couldn't see the beauty in the moon that night that I saw. I felt so insignificant staring up at the full moon. Like I was an ant and the moon was towering over me. It was so big and beautiful. I felt like I was on an alien planet and that wasn't our moon. I remember my friends had to drag me away because I wanted to stay outside with the moon all night.
