Samson Girma- Searching for Peace on the Noland Trail

I took my first independent visit to the Noland Trail and wanted to see why people talked about it so much. I was searching for an experience at first, just waiting for something to happen. I thought I would just be walking through the woods but it turned out to be more than that. I didn’t realize there’d be so many bridges and a nice sized lake on the trail. I kind of got lost at one point. Lane discusses a “lost in space” feeling and I definitely felt that. I forgot my watch in my apartment and didn’t know my way around the trail so before I knew it I was lost and three hours had gone by. It wasn’t a bad thing though. I was just caught up in the time I was spending on the trail. Between relaxing on the benches, a bug falling on me causing me to freak out, and seeing some cool turtles, I interacted with the trail and all of this added to the experience.
