Samson Girma- Countries and the Global Environment
In my government class we were talking about global conflict that stem from environmental issues. In the textbook Global Issues, the topic of what to do with those in countries who do not want to act responsibly in decisions regarding the environment. Many people around the world over hunt and pollute waters and the air. I don’t think a lot of them have an understanding of what they are doing. If they find out the short term benefits are severely outweighed by the longterm problems that will result, I don’t think they would continue to live such environmentally destructive lives. What to do in places that people would rather get monetary benefits now and not by concerned about the future? I think countries like these should be rewarded for changing their ways because we all effect our environment in one way or another so we should limit our impact on it as much as we can.
