Destroying Nature
I have recently noticed more housing developments being erected near my home town, which is a rural area, and I am noticing a decrease in wilderness space. Whenever a new neighborhood is put up, that land is disturbed, so is the wildlife, and that area no longer is wilderness, but now civilization. It is disturbing to think that nature is suffering in order for people to make a few dollars. I am not against anyone making a living, or even against the real estate business, but I am against developing in rural areas because they are becoming few and far between as it is. I love living in a small rural town, just outside of town, there are farms, trees, fields and lakes, and now I ride by what used to be a cornfield, and it’s a housing development. The small town farmer is being put out of business and forced to sell to real estate developers to survive and then they put up a group of houses, that look the same, and sell them for outrageous prices, because people want out of the city.
If people want out of the city, that’s great, I understand it, but why disturb the peace of rural areas. Are there not enough homes already built? I see hundreds of homes on the market every day, why do we need to build more and disturb the land? I like hunting, I love fishing, and I like being able to take a walk in the woods and you cannot do that if the woods aren’t there. Hunting is not allowed in living communities, there are laws against it. All I want is for people to stop and think before they decide to turn a forest in to a housing development. Pretty soon there will not be anywhere to go to escape from civilization.
