Chris Estes, Required Reading #5
The mask of the holy was from one of the required readings that we had this semester. Stated on page sixty seven he says that an inference is drawn conclusions, from which facts we draw conclusions. An example is Sherlock Holmes where he looks at implications and concludes that inference. The mask deals with Boober. In that mask of god idea here, I am having a relationship with god through a mask, he states. He shows that his own personal life is relating back with his own life. Then on page sixty nine, paradox of seeing and not seeing is discussed. The discussion leads to that it reveals and conceals, and we approach god through the masks like Moses. An example would be Tahoma, the mountain that was god, Mt. Reenier. This could be one of the masks of god, it is representative of the cascades. One's view will never be forgot, it is ghostly like a possible double personality. In this reading it says that John Meur, has a camp on the mounting called Meur camp. The mountain is over 14,000 feet, and is a volcano dome.
