Rachel Goodwyn-Cold Fever

The movie, Cold Fever, is about a young man named Hirata, whose parents had died in an accident in Iceland. It is about Hirata’s spiritual journey about learning how important ritual acts are. His grandfather asks Hirata to make the journey to Iceland to do the ritual ceremony of the dead where they had died so that his parents’ spirits could be at peace. Along the way there are several people and obstacles thrown in his way to help or hinder his journey to the understanding of spiritual pilgrimage. Hirata is a businessman working in a field that views supernatural things as bad for business, because it tends to be time consuming and for them time is money. At the beginning of the journey he sees rituals and pilgrimages as useless and a waste of time, but at the end of the movie he tells his grandfather that journey takes you to a place that cannot be found on a map.
