Douglas Pelenberg: Image and Pilgrimage in Christian Culture
Liminality is the process of mid-transition in a rite of passage. I underwend liminality that closely relates to examples given in class. I experienced this when I pledged a fraternity. There was much knowledge that had to be obtained and I had to prove myself numerous time over before I was accepted into the brotherhood. This is similar to Redick’s experience in the Marines. Except the Marines sounded much, much worse.
