Elizabeth Robertson: 1st axiom
The first axiom is that a sacred place is not chosen, but it chooses, meaning that a person can not choose for a place to be sacred, or choose any random place and make it sacred through their own merit, but rather the sacred place is sacred throughout history and can choose or allow a person to experience the sacredness of the place. In other words, nature can understand the current needs of man, and bring him to a sacred place where his need for spirituality can be met. An example of this would be any person that is drawn to a place in nature where some historical event took place. At this location, the person experiences a spiritual dawning where they become very aware of their own spirituality.
