Kyle Shipe: Crater Lake article
Ever since I was a freshman in high school, I had always wanted to visit the west coast. I had heard stories of how great states like California and Oregon were. While I never made it to Oregon, I one day plan on going to visit Crater Lake. As a sacred place it can often go overlooked, but I found an article that provided great reasons why Crater Lake is indeed scared. The article discussed the history of the lake and how it had been home to many Native American tribes who lived in the area. The Native Americans would worship the lake and often go on visions and quests around it. The Lake was eventually reached the status of a national park, with the help of president Theodore Roosevelt. The lake is known for its beautiful blue color which tourists often enjoy fishing and kayaking in. Overall I plan to someday journey to Crater Lake and experience it for myself.
