Kyle Shipe: Surfing
When I was a freshman in high school I remember being fascinated with the idea of surfing. I asked my mother if she would sign me up for a surf camp over the summer. She did and to this day I'm still very grateful for that. There is nothing like the feeling of paddling out into the sea in hopes of catching a few waves. The anxious feeling of waiting for the next set of waves to roll in is one I never seem to get tired of. Surfing provides me with a great outlet to relieve my stress. It truly is the funniest "exercise" I have ever participated in. The feeling of your body and your board being taken over by the water and rushed forward is an incredible experience. As soon as you feel the board take off you hop up on your feet and just try and balance as the wave carries you wherever it goes. As the ride ends you jump or fall off your board into the water, it truly is a great experience. Surfing is a hobby I'm sure will be with me until I am too old to do it anymore!
