Pilgrimage Reading - Nina Salzberg

While preparing myself for the final research paper, I've been reading a lot about pilgrimage. Particularly the pilgrimage to Mecca. This certain pilgrimage is done by Muslims. It is part of their Five Pillars which are certain cuties they have to do to be a part of the Islamic faith. Once in their lifetime they have to take a pilgrimage to Mecca. Mecca is the holiest city in Islam. It was where Abraham settled and Muhammad preached. Muslims take this pilgrimage to Mecca for all sorts of reasons. Some include becoming closer to God, finding more about their faith, growing as a person, appreciating other religions and beliefs, and feeling a sense of brotherhood. Pilgrimage is in many ways, a spiritual journey. One that can improve faith and experience something supernatural. A connection with a higher being or just yourself. The dedication that is shown in the pilgrimage to Mecca is immense.
