Crystal Kernan #10 Noland Trail
On Thursday, October 22nd class was a little different. Instead of being indoors for a lecture we all went out to the Lion's Bridge. I commute from Suffolk to Newport News everyday to go to school and work so I do not know the Peninsula area that well. I had been totally unaware that the Noland Trail was so close to campus. I arrived 20 minutes early for class just to make sure I made it on time and parked at the far end of the bridge. I sat in my car with the windows down because it was such a beautiful day. I began to observe the scenery and all of my surrounding. Not long after I arrived, a grandfather with his granddaughter pulled up beside me. The girl got out of the truck and went to the edge of the water to feed the ducks. While the grandfather sat in the truck and watched his granddaughter with a big smile on his place, it was a sentimental moment for me to see the relationship and connection they had. Soon it was time for class so I got out of my car and walked down the bridge to meet up with class.
