Crystal Kernan #13 Personal Choice

My absolute favorite video blog was one made by Dr. Redick. This video was of Triple T and Chicken Legs making it to Mount Katahdin. It was interesting to hear what all of the hikers had to say as they arrived and as they were coming down off of the mountain. I got teary eyed when she got emotional after reaching the Mount Katahdin informational board. I could feel the power and emotion even through the video. Another great part was when CC threw his walking sticks off of the mountain top instead of leaving them for someone else as trail magic. I felt as if that was a very transformational moment and emotional as well. It is like the place fixes you as a kind of recentering, similar to the idea of axis mundi. The Trail Days Parade and events were also a pleasure to see. All of the hikers and supporters get to come out and participate in all the fun and laughter. It is all about the sense of communitas and togetherness. I enjoyed seeing this type of interaction the most, simply just people being there for each other and having a good time.
