Becki Landscapes of the Sacred 3

While reading from Lane’s book I found an Indian Tribe which I would like to join. “The Hoopa Indians of the West Coast have a practice of rising slowly from sleep and beginning the day with silence.” This practice intrigues me because it is how I start my day, everyday. I prefer not to speak with people until I am sure that I am in the right mood. I need to eat and get ready before I can have a conversation. I also found their myth that your shadow must return to you before you jump out of bed interesting. I would love to think that as I dream my shadow explores an unknown world in the dark night.
